Active Home Week 2020
Many thanks to all who participated in Active School Week. Facebook was inundated with clips & pictures of you carrying out your 60 mins a day of exercise in the most innovative of ways.We thoroughly enjoyed seeing them all! We are still receiving our Active Home Charts and if you have not submitted them yet could you please do so. I’ve also attached a link to a parental questionnaire. It only takes a few minutes and we would appreciate any feedback. Below are some of the clips which gives us a flavour of the activities that took place.
We look forward to resuming our Active School Week next year!
Well done!

Active Home Week (April 27th – May 3rd)
National ‘Active SCHOOL Week’ takes place every April and is a really enjoyable part of the school year for many.
This year, because of COVID-19, it is not possible for this to go ahead so we are asking you to participate in the ‘Active HOME Week‘ challenge instead. This involves spending 60 minutes each day being active in or around your house. We would love to see some inventive ways of keeping active. All children are asked to fill in the challenge chart below or make one of your own, screen shot it and e mail it back to scmrsmcclafferty@gmail.com or your class teachers.
Some fun ideas are listed below and your teachers have allocated time this week for this to be completed. So remember, 60 minutes of activity each day, fill in the charts/make your own and most importantly, have fun!
Please remember to keep an eye on our facebook page for more ideas/challenges and send us in some clips!
Active Homework
Our school have adopted our homework policy to include active homework and well-being activities on Thursday’s of each week. This has been discussed and agreed at a staff meeting earlier in the year. The promotion of physical activity and active homework on Thursday’s is now a core part of what we do in Scoil Cholmcille. Some samples of the Active Homework tasks are included below.
